The enrollment timeline and process overview may be found on our website here.
How do I enroll my student?
We encourage all parents to attend one of the Parent Information Sessions offered during the open enrollment period. If parents support our mission, philosophy, and practices, we invite them to take part in the enrollment process that begins on January 24, 2023, by completing one (1) Intent-to-Enroll Application form per student applying.
Is there an application or form to submit for enrollment?
Yes. Parents should submit one (1) online Intent-to-Enroll form per student anytime between January 24, 2023 through February 28, 2023 at 4:00pm, to participate in the lottery. As of January 24, 2023, a link to this online form will be found on our website, or a hard copy will be made available upon request.
By submitting the Intent-to-Enroll form, you are indicating that you would like a seat in a certain grade; however, your student is neither obligated to attend nor guaranteed enrollment.
Is anyone given preference in the enrollment process and lottery?
Yes. The following categories of students are given weighted preference during the lottery: 1) students whose parent/guardian is a full-time employee at Treasure Valley Classical Academy, 2) siblings of students who currently attend Treasure Valley Classical Academy, and 3) students who live within Payette County.
How does Treasure Valley Classical Academy define a “sibling” for enrollment purposes?
“Sibling” means a child who shares at least one common biological or legal parent whether through natural or adoptive means, including biological siblings that share parents; half siblings that share a single parent; step siblings that share a parent or parents through marriage even if the marriage was terminated by death or dissolution; children who share a parent or parents through adoption or guardianship; and foster children awaiting permanent placement. Siblings, for the purpose of Treasure Valley Classical Academy’s enrollment process, must reside within the State of Idaho.
If I am applying for full-time employment at Treasure Valley Classical Academy, will my child be given preference in the lottery?
No. Children of prospective full-time employees will participate in the lottery without the employee preference. The availability of seats and student placement will be discussed at the time of employment.
How will I learn the results of the lottery and know if my student has been granted a seat?
Results of the lottery, and wait lists by grade, will be available in each applicant’s online account soon after the lottery event. It is the parent’s responsibility to ensure that Treasure Valley Classical Academy has the most updated contact information (phone, mailing address and email address) for notification purposes.
What happens once I am notified that my child(ren) has been granted an available seat?
All students who have been granted an available seat must complete and return online registration forms with valid supporting original documents by the deadline communicated by the enrollment coordinator, or their seat will be forfeited.
If my student is not offered a seat, how can I monitor his/her waitlist position?
Wait list positions may be monitored online through the applicant’s account.
Why does my child’s wait list position sometimes move further from the #1 spot instead of closer?
Wait list positions may change due to lottery preferences. For instance, when a student with a sibling is offered a seat, the sibling preference will be given to that student’s sibling whose wait list number will then move closer to the #1 spot. Thus students without the preference will move further from the #1 spot. Click here for information on preferences determined by Treasure Valley Classical Academy’s charter and as permitted by IDAPA § 08-02-04 7.
Will my current TVCA student have to participate in the lottery each year?
No. Once officially enrolled, all Treasure Valley Classical Academy students will remain enrolled tuition-free for future years, subject to continued residency within Idaho, and other academic and disciplinary guidelines as stated in the Family Handbook. In the spring of each school year, parents of current students must inform the school if they plan to return for the following year.
Will my child be able to enroll mid-year?
Applicants are welcome to fill out the online Intent-to-Enroll form at any time after the lottery and before the next school year’s open enrollment period. These post-lottery applicants will be placed on a grade level wat list. In the event that a seat becomes available before the next enrollment lottery, the Enrollment Coordinator will contact the family at the top of the wait list for that grade to discuss their interest.
Will the grade level wait lists for the current school year carry over into the enrollment period for the following school year?
No. Wait lists are terminated each year and do not carry over. The wait list is terminated prior to the lottery event for the following school year.
How will my twins/triplets/multiples be handled in the lottery and enrollment process?
Parents of twins, triplets, or multiples applying to the same grade will complete one Intent-to-Enroll form per child. Twins, triplets or multiples applying to the same grade will receive a unique lottery number per child and will be placed during the lottery into the desired grade or wait list in individual, yet consecutive, slots.
